The Addict

Wilson Port, Tewanta - 3305-08-25 05:22, Galactic Standard Time Commander Graves stood up from his desk, picked up his coffee mug and hand terminal, and walked over to the window of his office. He thumbed a virtual button on the hand terminal and the shutters covering his windows opened. The main star of the system was shining on the other side of the station so his view was now of stars. It was calming. As he gazed out a Cobra Mk III maneuvered itself into view and stopped in front of his office window, barely ten meters away. He looked on in shock, as the Cobra's weapon bay doors opened and four railguns deployed. He saw them charge and turned to run for the door. The railguns fired and his office windows shattered. One of the slugs took his leg off at the knee. The decompression of the office threw him back towards the window, tumbling, and into the vacuum of space. Commander Graves woke up with a start in his office. ...

The Hero

Wilson Port, Tewanta - 3305-08-19 16:11, Galactic Standard Time George Smith whistled while he worked. He was just finishing up loading eight tonnes of titanium into a Hauler. There were lots of these little ships coming into the port these days. Some might say that this was an inefficient way to run a starport and that it would be better if just larger ships were landing, but the station was booming and if anything more large ships were managing to land. It was exciting. Lots of new cargo, improvements to equipment, and better safety procedures. Things were just running smoother. There was more of a focus on solving the problems in the docking area than making sure everyone was busy all the time. The Buurian Protectorate managers were still focused on having a smooth running port with a good throughput of ships and cargo, but they listened to suggestions from the dock workers and didn't just assume that they knew best. One thing they had insisted on was a shorter working shift:...

The Survivor

Witch Head Sector JH-V c2-6 - 3305-07-25 10:49, Galactic Standard Time Jennifer Ng sat at the fighter control station of the Anaconda named Dreadnought. She liked the ship's name: it meant fear nothing and while the last four days were hectic she was starting to feel her old confidence again, putting the battle in Tewanta behind her. She and her crew mates were about to complete their final escort run to the Witch Head Sector, the last of twenty. They had been escorting three Lakon Type-9 transports stuffed full of construction supplies for a new space station there, Sherrill Orbital. One more jump and they would complete their final delivery. It amazed her to see the station take shape over the past few days. Millions of tons of supplies had been hauled from The Bubble, all to set up this enclave near a new source of the mysterious meta alloys. In the twenty round trips that they had made, they had been attacke...

The Office

Wilson Port, Tewanta - 3305-08-03 08:19 AM, Galactic Standard Time Commander Austin Graves sat in his new office reviewing the current state of the Official Tewanta Order faction's affairs. He'd moved in to this office about a week ago after being evicted from his old one when The Buurian Protectorate took over Wilson Port. It was about the same size as his old office and was on the outer edge of the station, about as far from the axis of station's rotation as was possible, so there was decent artificial gravity. In fact that aspect was better than his old office. Everything functioned well, and he even had an exterior window, just like his old office. However, his old office was on the same facet of the station as the "mailslot", the entrance for spaceships. He used to be able to see every single ship that entered and left the station, if he had wanted to. This new office was on the opposite side of the stati...
